Fairview fights Corona Virus

Dear Fairview family,

We would like to wish you all a happy and prosperous Lunar New Year! May the Year of the Rat bring opportunities, joy, prosperity and health in abundance.

As you are aware, we are currently dealing with the outbreak of the Corona Virus. In line with the outbreak, the school is implementing precautions to keep our community safe and prevent the spread of a potentially fatal disease. We urge you to respect these guidelines and be vigilant especially if you are travelling over the Chinese New Year break.

Daily screening – Students and teachers will be screened before entering the school each morning and classes will be screened once a day. All those detected with symptoms such as fever, sore throat, runny nose or cough will be sent home immediately.

Required letter from GP if you are sick – All students who are identified to have symptoms, are sent home or have travelled abroad are to obtain a letter from their GP or doctor to indicate that they are healthy and fit for school. Students without a doctor’s letter will be asked to go home. Students specifically coming back from China, have travelled there over January or have come into contact with any confirmed cases must maintain a 2-week period away from school as per the incubation period of the Coronavirus and also obtain a doctor’s letter before returning to school.

Googlemeet classes will be organised for students who are missing from physical lessons.
For those who are travelling / have travelled abroad during this break, please take care and make sure you are safe. Please avoid crowds and minimise public gatherings. The transmission is suspected to be by water droplets, so surgical masks may be useful.

It is unfortunate that this news comes at such a happy time but we believe that we can be strong together by caring for one another.

Happy holidays!

Season’s Greetings
Dr Vincent Chian
Principal, FISKL
