The Grade 4 and Grade 5 students took the lead to run the first morning assembly in Fairview Ipoh for the Academic Year 2014/2015, since they are the “eldest” in the school.
The Grade 4s presented a Skeleton Dance which is related to their UOI “Who We Are” on human body systems. The Grade 5s were the emcees for the whole assembly. It started sharply at 7:20am at the assembly area.
The objective of the students conducting the morning assembly is to develop presentation skills and develop leadership in them. This is an important step to gain confidence when standing in front of everyone. The students performed the dance with laughter and joy. They also gave a short briefing about the dance and skeletal system. One of the students also shared some information about “The international Youth Day” which falls on 18th August 2014.
The learner profile that the students were sharing is “Balanced”. Every morning, each student came out to share something about what they do to keep themselves balanced in their daily lives.
On 19th August 2014, one of them also shared about “World Humanitarian Day” to their peers.
We are proud to see them being courageous to make the first move. As our famous Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu once said: The journey of a thousand miles, begins with a single step.
