The recent tragedy caused by the typhoon that struck the Philippines is a terrible occurrence, however, what we should all focus on is where we go from here. Individually, we can do our part; as a community, we can change the world. Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Please do find out what is currently required by the relief efforts working in the Philippines at the moment to ensure your contribution can be utilised effectively and efficiently. Thank you.
After last quarter’s whirl of campaigning and voting, the members of the MYP Student Council have been organising themselves into teams to effectively tackle various tasks around the school. Starting out, they have 4 main jobs:
- Boosting the schools efforts and methods when it comes to recycling
- Assisting with and organising new events
- Improving the library
- Student led management of assemblies
With these 4 tasks at hand, the council has been organised to have 4 heads of departments, each responsible for one of these efforts.
Hong Joo – Recycling
Sunny J – Events
Lauren – Library
Umair – Assemblies
Throughout quarter 2, the MYP Student Council will try their best to improve the situation of these 4 areas by coming up with solutions and recruiting interested team members from outside of the council to assist them.
Students who need their voice heard can also seek the council for support and assistance, so feel free to approach any of the representatives shown above.
We will be organising an Open Day event on 16/11/13 (Saturday) from 9.30am. – 1.00pm. We look forward to meeting you!
